Nyc traffic tickets payment plan

Receiving a traffic ticket can put a damper not only on your day but also on your wallet. Luckily, motorists in New York who receive such tickets for certain fines are able to apply for a payment plan. They must fill out a free application.

Residing in New York State

If you are issued a ticket in any of the New York City boroughs, your ticket will be overseen by the Traffic Violations Bureau (TVB) and you are eligible to apply for a payment plan so long as:

1. You pled guilty to the traffic violation;
2. You were found guilty at your hearing;
3. A default judgment was entered against you.

When you fill out an online application form you will be asked for several pieces of information:

• Name
• Email
• Phone number
• Driver’s license number
• Date of birth
• Ticket number (you can find this on the upper left corner of your ticket)

If you are issued a ticket outside of New York City, the ticket will be processed in the county, city, or town in which the alleged offense occurred.
