Kristina was born to Russian parents in Khabarovsk, Russia. Kristina relocated to Australia when she was 7 years old, where she completed her schooling.
She accepted a three-month modeling contract from a Singaporean agent when she was twenty-one years old, and during the next six years she lived and worked as a model in six different countries, including India.
Before turning to modeling full-time, Akheeva had studied acting at the Melbourne, Australia-based Film and TV Academy.
